 We welcome the opportunity to introduce you to our company, Vintage Poster Art International, Inc.
and the world of vintage advertising and movie posters.
Our gallery is located in Orlando, Florida where we moved 7 years ago. Living in Europe for 20 years
created a strong appreciation for original vintage posters, and that was the beginning on a vintage
poster collection that has been enhanced and is now available in our Orlando gallery and on our
on-line gallery.
Vintage Advertising Posters
We tend to focus on European posters, mostly French and Italian, but we also are represented by a
variety of posters from other Western European countries such as Swizerland, Germany, Belgium,
Sweden and the Netherlands.
Our collection includes posters designed by such well known poster artists as Leonetto Cappiello,
Gino Boccasile, Jules Cheret and Roger Broders among many other "names".
Vintage Movie Posters
We also offer an attractive selection of European movie posters. Among the titles that are
well-collected are Dr. Zhivago, War & Peace, Lawrence of Arabia, Il Gigante, Citizen Kane,
Carmen, My Fair Lady and several of the James Bond movies.
Art Nouveau Lithographs
In addition, we have an interesting and attractive collection of Art Nouveau Lithographs from the
turn of the century which includes works by Alphonse Mucha, Georges Defeure, Cassandre, Grun,
Meunier and others.
Master of the Poster
We have 90% of the Maitres De L'Affiche series of Chromolithographs from the late 1890's with works
by Toulouse-Lautrec, Mucha, the Beggarstaff Brothers, Grun and scores of other well-known artists and
designers. These Lithographs were printed by Jules Cheret's Chaix printing House over a four year period.
He selected 256 posters from the previous decade by over 90 prominent artists from around the world, and
issued them in numbered sheets measuring 11 1/4" X 15 1/2" inches.
The Maitres have become popular with collectors as they become harder to find in excellent condition.
We own approximately 240 of these Maitres, and believe this makes us one of the 2 or 3 largest Maitre
dealers in North America.
Vintage Poster Reissues
In addition to our large collection of originals (First Printing Run) posters, we also offer a
selection of poster Reissues, which are usually second run printings.
Reissues are usually printed a number of years after the first printing run, sometimes to commemorate
an anniversary of a resort or a race, sometimes to use as an advertising vehicle again.
For those who are interested in decorate art rather than collecting and poster appreciation, Reissues
could be the answer since they are very reasonably priced (Generally under $300) and still have the
full range of artistic merit of originals. They are viewable on our on-line gallery and are
marked "Reissues".
